Creative Expression

Unleash your identity by using your creativeness.

What word comes to your mind if you hear the word 'creative'? is it Art? or is it Imagination?

Either both words are correct, but what exactly does the word Creative means? The word creative splits into 3 Terms which consists of Ability, Thinking, and Developing (Khandelwal, 2016).

Having the ability to do art is one of the example for the things that you could master with a skill, and it's called Talent.

Thinking means the process of a mind that considers something (Khandelwal, 2016), just like how we do art. It is how we develop our own ideas/thoughts through pictures, feelings, or even music.

Lastly developing, its the process of how we grow or elaborate to become a better version of us (Khandelwal, 2016), like in terms of arts, its how our creativity goes beyond our imaginations to create an artwork.

To summarize it all, creative means is having the ability to create an original idea/thoughts and to show our imaginations and feelings through our creative mind. While the word 'expression' shows the act on how we feel, and is a part of basic human rights, and we can express our emotions through a sketch, poem, music, and many more.

Creative Expression & Negative Emotions: Text

Negative Emotions

(in Art)

your negativity tells your weaknesses, but your positivity gives you strength.

Negative, a presence of yours with distinguish features.

Emotion, a state of feeling.

I'm sure each and every one of us are certainly familiar with the feelings of negativity right? and may at least once feel it.

Perhaps, did you know negative emotions could be related to art? How? you may ask.

You see, releasing an emotion through art is never a problem, as a matter of fact, it's a normal thing to do. This may be one of the reasons why most of us enjoys arts.

Once we can't hold back our emotions, our minds slowly develops with both emotion and art. This explains the possibility of our emotions dealing it with art.

Talking science and creativity here, you may wonder how our negative emotions makes us creative.

Researchers have found that a part of our brains, Dorsolateral Prefrontal Cortex is an area which involves planning, and monitoring our behavior (Brown, 2016). Our brain is free to think outside of the box, and follow our creative impulses. There are differences in emotional connection, positive emotion leads to a feeling where we would feel being 'in the zone', while negative emotion leads to a feeling for 'being more rewarded' (Brown, 2016).

The process of a tortured artist creates stronger ideas rather than a happy artist.
